Free Flip Book Maker can import any TXT file and convert it into a Flash-based flip book in a quick and easy way. The resulting e-book can then be saved as an HTML file, a self-executable EXE file, or as a convenient ZIP archive for easy distribution. It can produce portable versions that you can upload to your iPad, iPhone, and Android mobile devices.

As plain text is the only format supported by this free tool, the resulting layout of the flip book will largely depend on how the text in the TXT file has been formatted. This is also true for other input file formats, but taking into account the limited possibilities that text files offer, when it comes to layout will produce better results. You can customize the output by changing the default values for some “book proportions”, such as the width and height of the page, the margins, and the page background color. The conversion process will produce JPG renditions of each of the pages of the book, which will then be internally used to produce the SWF Flash file required to let you “flip” the pages of the e-book while reading it. The resulting file looks great, and the flip-page effect is top-notch. As a bonus, the e-book will also be stored in a number of XML files, which will be used by the program to search for strings in the text.
